Penda Diakité is an author, artist, and filmmaker and grew up between two homes, one in Portland, Oregon, and the other in Mali, West Africa. Her children’s book, I Lost my Tooth in Africa, won the Africana book award. Her works are inspired by her experiences living in both West Africa and America.
