Gabi Swiatkowska was born in 1970 in Poland. She is an artist, musician, and children's author and illustrator. She was nominated twice for the American Library Association Notable Book Award. With My Name Is Yoon, she won the Ezra Jack Keats Award. She was also on the New York Public Library's list of 100 Great Children's Books.
