Elivia Savadier is a children's book author and illustrator and has also worked as a grade school teacher, ESL instructor, and an adult literacy teacher in England, the United States, and South Africa. She was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, where she was inspired by a "sensuous atmosphere filled with atmosphere, filled with warmth, color, luminous light and shifting moods." This has inspired her artwork today, and Savadier has received praised for her color and homey watercolor illustrations.
