Linda Sue Park was born in Urbana, Illinois in 1960, and her parents were Korean immigrants. She has always enjoyed reading and writing poetry, but it was not until later in her life that she became a children’s book author, after she was a food journalist and a college teacher for students with English as a second language. She now lives in New York and continues publishing children’s books.
